Join us this Sunday at Pier del Sol: Viva La Fiesta a fun, family event, where guests may enjoy a spectacular cuisine from more than 35 of LA’s top restaurants, including Santa Monica’s El Cholo, JiRaffe, Joe’s Restaurant, Mariasol, Melisse, Real Food Daily, Zengo and more. Pacific Park will have games, rides, arts and crafts, face painting, and lots of activities on the historic Santa Monica Pier.
Participants include celebrity guests, sponsors, supporters, and Special Olympics athletes and their families. Rob Friedman, Co-Chair and CEO of Summit Entertainment (Twilight Saga, Hurt Locker, 50/50) will be honored for his tremendous work with Special Olympics Southern California.
Tickets start at $45 and all proceeds from Pier del Sol will benefit the more than 9,000 athletes of Special Olympics Southern California. Participation in Special Olympics empowers our athletes to become physically fit, productive and respected members of the community.

Septemberfest is America’s answer to Oktoberfest. Having felt shorted for years by German food, Polka music, and Lederhosen, America finally claims its own tradition of BBQ and Daisy Dukes. The one constant? Beer.
This will be the biggest party to hit the Santa Monica beach all year. Musical performances by Black Crystal Wolf Kids and Petty Cash, 10 food trucks, over 150 beers, thousands of people and one awesome good time.
Septemberfest will support Take Me Home, a local non-profit animal rescue.
FAQs
- Admission is $40 for general admission and $50 for VIP. Food is sold separately.
- VIP includes an extra hour with shorter lines for drinks and food for that hour.
- Included with admission is unlimited 4 oz. pours in addition to live music.
- Designated drivers can purchase tickets at the door for $15.

About the LA Barbecue Festival
The LA BBQ Festival returns to the Santa Monica Beach, promising to be the best BBQ meal you’ve ever had! The three-day event will feature authentic ‘cue from Texas, Kansas City, Chicago, Santa Maria preparing regional specialties including tri tip, beef brisket, pulled pork, sausage and Kansas City and Memphis style ribs. The Twilight Dance Series, a production of the Santa Monica Pier Restoration Corporation, will again present 10 free concerts on the deck of the Santa Monica Pier this year, beginning July 7, 2011. The concerts will feature high-profile artists from all over the world.

Concert organizers have also put the “dance” back into Twilight Dance Series by including a dance floor on the deck of the Santa Monica Pier for The SaMo Mambo, La Monica Ballroom Then & Now, and Tango on the Timbers.
“We believe the 27th Annual Twilight Dance Series will be a fantastic concert production and will please the Santa Monica community and concert fans,” said Kent Smith, chair of the Santa Monica Pier Restoration Corporation. “Free summer concerts on the pier have become a cultural and historical phenomena and we made a collective effort to deliver the quality and community experience that has come to define this cultural institution.”
The ten-concert season is presented in partnership with OneWest Bank, the largest Southern California-based bank, as part of their organized effort to support local initiatives that contribute to a more vibrant California. Additional sponsors include the Australian Consulate and Cotton On, Cirque du Soleil, Bloomingdales, and media partner KCRW 89.9 FM.

Proceeds benefit Heal the Bay
The world famous Santa Monica Pier and the Honolua Surf Co. will kick off the summer of 2011 with the Santa Monica Pier Paddleboard Race and Ocean Festival, featuring paddleboard races, dory competitions, outrigger canoes, live music and a surfing, lifeguard and paddleboard “museum for the day.”
The all day event takes place Saturday, June 11, 2011 and is a benefit for Santa Monica-based Heal the Bay and its public marine education facility, the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium. Heal the Bay will receive a portion of net proceeds from the event.
